What makes a good Boxing Glove? The right Boxing Glove won’t just protect your hands. It will reduce the stress on your wrists, elbows and shoulders, especially from the constant pounding of heavy hitters. This enables longer training sessions without the wrist, hand, elbow and shoulder “fatigue” that accompanies many other boxing gloves. PROTECTION AND FEEL Impact force and hand and wrist alignment are the most common sources of injury, and of hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder “fatigue.” Revgear Boxing Gloves feature RG-Ultra shock-absorbing padding, combined with an anatomically correct hand-pocket that fits snugly and prevents slipping, for the ultimate training, sparring and boxing experience, even for extended periods. I've had two pair (last pair bought 2014). I love the narrow design, which eliminates wasted padding at the sides of your hands and puts it over your knuckles for extra length and shock absorption. Also loved the exterior durability; mine were definitely real leather. The only drawback for the two pair I've had was interior durability of the lining...both tore within a year or two, and eventually the padding began coming out in tiny bits. I now have a pair of expensive Title gloves, and they definitely don't protect my hands as well as the Revgear, plus I hate the wide profile, but they do seem to have a better lining. For Revgear if you're listening: Please fix the lining issue, and confirm these are still made with real leather exteriors. The design/shape of these are superior to all the other gloves I see. This is my second pair of the Elite gloves. The first pair I had I couldn't get used to and tore my knuckles, so I returned them for a different pair of Revgear gloves. When that pair finally failed, I decided to give this glove another try since everyone I spar with swears by them. Almost two weeks later, I'm glad I gave them another try.I learned pretty early that the problem I had with my previous gloves was probably a product of the way I wrapped my hands. These gloves are a lot more narrow in the wrist/hand area than my previous gloves, and if I didn't have the knuckle pad wrapped well enough it tended to slide back on my hand leaving my knuckles much less protected. The padding in these gloves is hard, so there isn't much "give" with punches. My knuckles moved around a LOT and my knuckles were always sore/raw until I got the wrapping thing down. Now that I fixed my wrapping issue and the inside conforms a little more to my hands, I love these things. The narrow profile allows more punches to slip through sparring partner's guards, and it feels like they're a little longer than the gloves I'd used before giving me a little extra reach.I'm still getting used to these and I hear they just get better and better, but so far I'm glad I gave these another chance.I purchased these gloves at the end of July and only started using them more frequently over these last few months (a couple of hours a week, mostly for light to medium sparring). I keep my nails trimmed and fairly short, but there are already holes in the padding where I ball my fingers. I also felt a hole in the lining by the thumb area last night. Other reviewers weren't joking about how synthetic and cheap the inside lining material is. The outside of the glove is still in great condition, at least. I've talked to many of my friends who've been training for decades, and every single one of them has become disappointed by the quality of Revgear gloves nowadays. Revgear used to have very high quality products (one of my instructors still has a pair of Revgear gloves from 12 years ago that are still in decent condition!), but their newer production gloves have become a waste of money. I should have paid the extra $20-30 for one of the better brands from the start since I have to buy a new pair of gloves soon.In terms of fit, I'm a petite woman with fairly small hands. The glove is nicely narrow, which is why I chose this glove over others initially. However, the glove is also pretty long, so the wrist support starts around 1.5" below my actual wrist. It's also got a fairly large space between the grip which prevents me from comfortably closing my fists. Perhaps it's why I've already got finger/nail indentations in the padding, but part of that is definitely attributed to the material quality.Overall, if you're a beginner and want a cheap-ish glove to get started - this glove is ok. It'll get the job done... for a little while. Once it starts falling apart, you'll have an idea of what you really want in a glove. You'll also feel better about paying more than you had originally expected because you'll know that quality really does trump all LOL. Good luck.I've had these gloves for about a year. They are firmer gloves with pretty solid wrist support. I use them mainly for heavy bag and mitt work with my trainer. Ive used them about 5 to 6 hours a week for about a year and they have been rock solid. You can really unload on the bag with these gloves, and because of that you can really use them to build your power behind shots. One thing I've noticed, they have a slimmer profile than traditional boxing gloves. If you do light sparring with these gloves their downside is that they have a slimmer profile so jabs might be able to sneak in between your guard. On the upside, their slimmer profile can allow you to stick them in between your opponents guard, and the defensive downfall might just make force you to learn how to move your head and slip shots for coubters. All in all great training gloves to add to your arsenalI seen a guy at the gym that had the same wraps from day to day noticed they were revgear so I bout a few pair and haven't changed since the revgear wraps last and don't fray live Everlast do. So I thought they must put the same durability into their gloves. I've had thes Gloves for close to a year and they show few if any signs of breaking down and I'm sure these the close to the cheapest bag gloves you can find. The construction is well built and feel solid when working heavy bag routines, they are a bit heavy for double ended bag stuff. But I say they are good beginner gloves to get the workout intended ill be keeping these for 250-300lb bag work again I think they are too heavy for lighter bags or speed had work.Muy buenos para el sparring pero no se recomiendan para costal, debido a su muy marcada forma circularson muy resistentes y no suelen guardar olores, se secan muy facil y son de materiales de buena calidadWhat do you get when you mix pakiistani leather and craftsmanship with american design? These gloves. The leather is thin and the hand compartment is loose. The glove is also front heavy and makes punches slower. Not bad for price, but they are mid grade for sure. Wrist support is midgrade as well. Should be used as a sparring glove for sure.I will stick with thai gloves like windy for a few more bucks. These dont feel like they will last long.Uno guantes demasiado bonitos y comodos aunque las letras vienen en gris y no en negro como se muestra en la imagen, no se apestan con el paso del tiempo, lastima que se empezo a descoser de adentro con el uso.Exactly what I was looking for.Handles well in my classes, just starting out.No issues. Work. Well made.
